Philip is a native East Texan, born and raised in Upshur County. He was first introduced to landwork in 1979 and developed a passion for it soon after.  Over the course of his career he has worked on a variety of projects in multiple states.  He began serving as Vice President of Petro-Land Group in 2010. Philip’s number one goal is to serve his clients and help them achieve their goals. He is a long-time member of the American Association of Professional Landmen.  

Edward Brawner, RPL

Edward, a member of the AAPL and ETAPL the past 21 years, is a 3rd generation landman whose work association with Petro-Land Group, Inc. began in 1997. Edward’s first task as a Project Manager began in 1999 and over the course of his career he has worked closely with E&P company personnel and the landmen who have devoted their expertise to help Petro-Land Group to provide the land work necessary for our clients to acquire, develop and manage their assets. Edward has always strived to be a good steward of the projects our clients have trusted to our care.

Charley Kennedy, CPL

Charley is a second generation landman, growing up in east Texas with a father who worked for over 30 years as a landman. Before joining the Petro-Land Group team, Charley was a contract landman primarily working in east and west Texas. For the past 5 years, Charley has worked side-by-side with PLG partners to help them further their goals. He is a graduate of Texas A&M University and has been a member of the American Association of Professional Landmen and the East Texas Association of Petroleum Landmen for fifteen years.

Gwen Armour

Designation: Director of Business Administration

Gwen is a highly experienced professional with thirty-plus years of experience in bookkeeping and a growing knowledge of human resources and property management. Gwen has been with Petro-Land for over 12 years, where she started in an accounting role and was later promoted to manager. Gwen’s responsibilities have expanded to include human resource management, where she gained a deeper understanding of employment law, employee relations, and benefits administration. Gwen is also in charge of PLG’s landlord’s property management. Her expertise in financial management and previous experience in realty proved to be a valuable asset in this area, as she oversees the leasing, maintenance, and financial operations of the commercial property that Petro-Land Group calls home. Gwen has developed a reputation for being reliable, detail-oriented, and highly organized. She understands the importance of confidentiality in financial and HR matters and always maintains the highest ethical standards.
